Special Consultants Elect Chapter Chair

      On December 18, 2007 the Local 154 Special Consultant Chapter at the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene elected Elliot Greene as their new Chapter Chair. Elliot will fill in this position until April 2008. Elliot has a background of community activism and he served as Shop Steward since July 2007. Elliot replaces former Chapter Chair Peter Melendez who took a personal leave and then retired during that year.

      In an innovative process, the Special Consultant organized and held a pre-election forum where the two candidates for the position explained their views, platform and answered questions from the members. Elliot was sworn in the position by President Fernández immediately after the election.
