Welcome to the Website of Local 154

      Local 154 represents members who work in a variety of settings and functions at twenty- nine City Agencies, Departments and one private institution, New York Law School. We represent nearly 700 members, public employees and private sector workers, distributed in 37 titles and levels. This is just a brief description of who we are and how we help make this city run.

      At City agencies, Authorities and Departments our members work in the titles or title series of Research Assistant, Human Rights Specialist, Claims Specialist, Public Records Aide, Departmental Librarian, Title Examiner, Special Consultant II, Departmental Senior Librarian, Principal Research Specialist, Furniture Equipment Inspector, and Furniture Equipment Specifier. At New York Law School (NYLS) Local 154 represents workers in the titles of Administrative Assistant, Clerical Aide, Library Information Specialist, Technical Support Assistant and Purchasing Assistant.

      Local 154 handles 11 contracts and agreements throughout the City and one private setting. Our members are covered by the Economic Agreement, and Citywide Agreement; the NYLS Contract, Social Service Contract, Clerical Contract, Accounting and EDP Contract, Real Estate Contract, NYCHA Contract, Transit Authority Contract, School Construction Authority Contract, and Board of Education Contract.

      Local 154 members work at the Board of Education, Comptroller's Office, School Construction Authority, Commission on Human Rights, Department of Mental Health and Retardation, Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Design and Construction, Law Department, City Planning Commission, Department of Buildings, Department of Health, Department of Sanitation, Department of Finance, Department of Transportation, Department of Records and Information Services, Housing Authority, Transit Authority, Health and Hospitals Corporation and New York Law School, among others.

      Our parent union is the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and we are proudly affiliated with District Council 37 (DC37).
